Character: Wonder Woman (Gothic) Photographer: Selfies & friends Model: me! Hair, Makeup, Styling: me! Post-processing: me! Time: 1 hour? Date Completed: June 21st 2015 Debuted & Worn At: HeroesCon 2015 Costs Breakdown Stretch denim: 3+ yards of silk (free hand-me-down!) Black wig (recycled, free) Accessories: approximately 30 dollars for raw materials The Motivation
I wanted to have a costume for HeroesCon 2015, but didn't have much time to devote to it. I had also wanted to do some cosplays with a gothic theme. The Build There really wasn't much to it. I watched some videos on how to tie a toga... and made it work out with me hand-me-down silk. The accessories on the other hand, are made from leather, with grommeted accents and hand tooled red stars. These are items I had laying around as inventory for my Etsy shop. Since I had not done a Wonder Woman cosplay and had these accessories on hand, I decided I was going to utilize them! The Experience A lot of people were confused. "Who are you supposed to be?" "Erm.. gothic Wonder Woman." "Oooh, ok.. I see it." You didn't get it. It's ok. I'm not worried. It was something I put together that was easy, fast, and wanted to put my own twist on it. I think it ended up having a stoic feel to it, and with a Athena-like kind of quality to it. |
